These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LightOS website at lightos-rtos.com (the “Site”) and any related services. By accessing or using our Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use this Site.

2. Description of Service

LightOS provides information about our real-time operating system (RTOS) software products, including documentation, pricing, and contact facilities. The Site does not provide the software itself; software is provided under separate license agreements.

3. Software Licensing

3.1 Evaluation License

Evaluation licenses are provided for a limited period (typically 90 days) for evaluation and prototyping purposes only. Commercial use and production deployment are prohibited under evaluation licenses.

3.2 Commercial Licenses

Professional and Enterprise licenses are subject to separate End User License Agreements (EULA) provided at the time of purchase. Contact sales@lightos-rtos.com for license terms.

3.3 License Restrictions

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

• You may not redistribute LightOS source code
• You may not sublicense the software
• You may not use the software for purposes not authorized by your license

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Our Content

All content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, code samples, and documentation, is owned by LightOS or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

4.2 Trademarks

“LightOS” is a trademark of LightOS. All other trademarks mentioned on this Site (including but not limited to FreeRTOS®, Zephyr®, ThreadX®, ARM®, RISC-V®) are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. Use of these trademarks does not imply endorsement.

4.3 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5. Disclaimers

5.1 As-Is Basis

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

5.2 Performance Claims

Performance metrics and comparisons presented on this Site (including boot times, memory usage, and benchmark results) are based on our internal testing under specific conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on hardware, configuration, and use case. These figures are provided for general guidance only.

5.3 Safety Certification

Statements regarding safety certification readiness (such as “ASIL-B ready” or “designed for ISO 26262”) indicate design intent and available documentation support. They do not constitute certification of the software itself. Final certification is the responsibility of the end user and their certification body.

5.4 Competitor Comparisons

Competitor product information is based on publicly available data at the time of publication and may not reflect the latest versions. We make no representations about the accuracy of third-party product information.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIGHTOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM:

• Your use of or inability to use the Site
• Any content obtained from the Site
• Unauthorized access to your data
• Any third-party conduct on the Site

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD.
